Covid 19 Update - October 2020
After a risk assessment and careful review of government guidance from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, as well as advice from Brass Bands England, we are pleased to be able to return to rehearsing with a COVID-19 safe approach. We have produced a set of strict rules and procedures that meet these guidelines, including social distancing and the use of bell coverings. Safety is our absolute priority and we will regularly review government advice. Our hope is to be able to undertake limited outdoor performances at Christmas, and so continue to raise money for Prospect Hospice; watch this space for any announcements!
Swindon Brass Musical Director Vacancy
Due to our Musical Director Francis Cowley gracefully retiring at the age of 93, we are seeking a confident, enthusiastic Musical Director to take the band forward. The ideal candidate will have experience of conducting bands, must be free on Monday and Thursday evenings for band rehearsals, and be able to commit to our list of agreed engagements throughout the year. Rehearsals take place at All Saints Church Hall, Southbrook Street, Swindon.
We anticipate an interview and audition with potential candidates; any auditions will be carefully arranged around our COVID-19 plans. A bursary is offered for the role depending on experience.
For more information or to apply for this role please contact Committee Chairman Bruce Hulatt on 07760 724713 or email chairman@swindonbrass.co.uk
